New Video for PledgeWin

Today we released a new video for Pledgewin. The fine folks at PledgeWin asked us to explain how their mobile app makes it easy to give to your favorite school, but with an important and innovative twist: Your donation depends on your school’s game-day performance. It’s a fun way to give back and support your alma mater.

The script:

Ahh, the thrill of game day! The crowd’s going wild for your team, your university.

But, hang on, time out. Your team has thousands of fans, but few actually donate to the school they love. More than ever, universities need help supporting students and athletes.

That’s why there’s PledgeWin, the game-changing way to give back, because when your team wins, your school wins your donation.

Using PledgeWin is simple: Choose your school, a favorite sport, and an upcoming game. Pledge five bucks, or as much as you like. You can even rally friends to the cause. Now, decide where your money goes – athletics, academics, or both. If your team wins, your pledge becomes a tax-deductible donation.

If the unthinkable happens and your team loses, bummer. But, you can roll your pledge to another game.

Victory is even sweeter when you know you’re making a difference. So start using PledgeWin now.

Planet Nutshell Studio Tour

How does a hardworking animation studio get stuff done? What exactly do we do all day? We like to joke that we simply push the “animate” button on our computers and sit back and let the magic happen. The truth is MUCH different. Great storytelling takes a team of committed, passionate, and talented folks who love to work together and sweat a ton of small details. It’s fun, but it’s also hard work.

Here’s a little photo tour of the studio:

Welcome! We're glad you're here.

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here.

Caroline

Caroline creates artwork in Adobe Flash from reference sketches in a storyboard. We create storyboards using good ole’ fashioned Microsoft Excel.

Here's a closer look at John working on his artwork in Flash.

Brien, our motion designer, assembles many different components, including the voiceover track, and puts the artwork in motion using Adobe After Effects.

And here's me, looking over some client comments on a set of art assets we've sent to a client for review. We use Dropbox for that.

And here’s me. While I’m usually researching and writing scripts, offering my thoughts about art and animation choices, or making sure the bills are paid, at this moment I’m looking at Dropbox, where a client has made comments on a set of art assets.

Thanks for visiting! The Planet Nutshell team (from left): John, Caroline, Brien, and Trevor. I'm the guy in the back.

New Video for DealerRater.com

We’re proud to release a new video for the wonderful folks at DealerRater.com. I really enjoyed meeting with members of their senior management team at their nearby office in Waltham, Mass. to develop the “key” concepts. See what I did there?

The script:

This is a story about how DealerRater helped Ray and his team at Everytown Motors sell and service more cars.

Ninety percent of consumers rely on third party reviews to help choose the dealership where they buy or service their car. Ray was missing out on a huge opportunity to connect with new customers, build trust, and earn their business. That is, until Ray discovered DealerRater.

Reviews on DealerRater share the stories of real people doing business with Ray’s dealership. These stories helped shoppers connect with Everytown–and even more importantly–connect directly with Ray or someone on his sales or service team.

DealerRater’s rich content placed Everytown Motors at the top of online search results. And DealerRater’s unique tools helped Everytown earn reviews and use them to drive business. Within weeks, great stories about Ray and his team were in front of millions of in-market consumers.

DealerRater also made it easy for Ray to address the concerns of his unhappy customers before their reviews went live. In many cases, those reviews helped the folks at Everytown improve their processes and provide a better experience.

Soon, customers were walking in asking for Ray and his team by name. Everytown’s numbers were up, all because DealerRater helped them build the most important element of every transaction: trust.

Now it’s your turn. Help put your dealership on the road to sales and service greatness with DealerRater.
