New Video for Endochoice
The wonderful folks at Endochoice came to us with a unique challenge: Make a fun explainer video about an important advancement in the medical device industry. We put our heads together and somehow landed on the concept of a spelunker exploring a cave. Plato writes of the analogy of the cave, but I think this video pushes that analogy into a wonderful new frontier.
The script:
So, it’s time for you to get a colonoscopy. Hey, don’t look so worried! It’s commonly done and vital for early cancer detection.
But here’s something you should know: Not all colonoscopies are created equal. Let’s take a closer look at that twisty, turny organ in your lower abdomen: your colon!
See how it’s shaped like an accordion with many folds? Sometimes, polyps that can turn into cancer hide behind these folds. That makes it virtually impossible for traditional single-camera scopes to see them.
But those days are over, thanks to Fuse, a revolutionary three-camera scope with a panoramic field of view. For your doctor, this can mean seeing nearly twice as much as traditional scopes.
So when it’s time for your colonoscopy, insist on Fuse, because when your doctor can see more, they can do more to ensure your health.
Hi Josh,
I can tell your team had great fun with this one! I’m going to share it with someone I know who is due for a colonoscopy. The Plato analogy will surely resonate deeply.
Is it just a coincidence, or does that spelunker bear a faint resemblance to my nephew?
Best,
Aunty Turtle
PS- I’m looking forward to an explainer about gravitational waves and the theory of relativity. Soon?
Ha! Yes, I think that might be me… Gravitational waves is a great idea!
