We’re pleased as punch to release this new Nutshell for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. We hope it inspires people to get creative and have a good time fundraising to support the incredible care at LPCH.

The script:

Meet Jill. She’s hitting the pavement for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.

Her nephew, Alex, is a patient at our hospital.

The money she raises will support our hospital’s nationally ranked care and ensure that no child is turned away due to family finances.

With her big 5K run coming up, Jill sets an initial goal of five hundred dollars. Let’s see how she gets there:

On Monday, she donates fifty dollars to her own fundraising page. Leading by example is the perfect way to kick things off.

The next day, she calls three family members and asks them to support her with fifty dollars. They’re in!

On Wednesday, she invites five friends to a fundraising movie night at her place. Folks have a great time and she raises a hundred bucks.

Jill brings a dozen cupcakes to work on Thursday. The result: happy, frosting-covered faces and another fifty bucks. She also uses her company’s matching gift to double their donations.

On Friday, Jill asks her friends on social media to donate ten dollars. In no time, she’s reached and surpassed her five hundred dollar goal!

Over the weekend, Jill thanks all of her supporters for helping our hospital care for more kids like her nephew, Alex, and their families.

Ready to step up your fundraising? Using tips like these, you’ll be amazed at how much you can raise.

Today we’re delighted to release the first four episodes from an 8-episode early childhood education series, which covers foundational learning concepts in art, math, and social studies. We loved collaborating with the wonderful folks at KET on these. KET provided the child voice actors, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out. Enjoy!

Planet Nutshell Acquired by Google

I’m very excited to finally share our recent acquisition by Google, Inc. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship as providers of intensely engaging, and intensely human, storytelling experiences for Google’s many audiences. In a nutshell, we’re delighted that we can expand the reach of our award-winning Internet content and bring the one-of-a-kind video experiences that Planet Nutshell is known for to billions of new viewers.

You may be asking, why Planet Nutshell, and why now? I can’t talk about too many of the details of the acquisition, but I can say that we at Planet Nutshell have been working to make the world a better place for some time now. Google executives expressed some discomfort that we were doing a better job of making the world a better place than they were, so they decided to bring our better-world making talents in-house. Now the world can truly be a better place, thanks to their technology and our creativity.

With this monumental change will come a few necessary adjustments. First, Google will be implementing a few algorithms designed to streamline our creative process and de-emphasize our reliance on human staff. Based on their calculations, we can be 90 percent more creative with a 120 percent smaller staff. As a result, our videos will be as much as 30 percent better. And the world will be 79 percent better.

Just like Aristotle once said, “them numbers don’t lie,” and for us, the acquisition was a complete no-brainer.

I look forward to sharing more about Planet Nutshell’s future, but for now, please join us in enjoying this proud moment of disruptive synergy.
